Exposure Information for UCCS Community

Faculty reporting instructions for when a student is:

COVID Positive

Tell student not to come to campus, or to leave campus immediately
Refer them to the UCCS Wellness Center AND their healthcare provider
You may contact the UCCS contact tracers to report the on campus COVID-19 positive case
Contact tracers my reach out to you if they have further questions
Be prepared to provide a seating chart or class list, if possible, when asked by contact tracers
Hold class as usual unless directed otherwise by contact tracers
Support the student by working with them to determine coverage for class / workload
Student may return to class as directed by contact tracers – YOU MAY NOT GET PROOF (doctor's note or negative COVID-19 test) to return to class nor should you ask for proof

DO NOT ask the student to provide proof of COVID-19 positive test OR share this information any further (for example to the class / colleagues)
DO NOT ask who was in contact with said student
DO NOT assume or suggest that the anyone needs to be tested or put into quarantine

Exposed or Quarantined due to COVID

Tell student not to come to campus, or to leave campus immediately
Refer them to the UCCS Wellness Center AND their healthcare provider
Hold class as usual unless directed otherwise by contact tracers
Support the student by working with them to determine coverage for class / workload
Student may return to class as directed by contact tracers – YOU MAY NOT GET PROOF (doctor's note or negative COVID-19 test) to return to class nor should you ask for proof

DO NOT share this information any further (for example to the class / colleagues)
DO NOT ask who was in contact with said student
DO NOT assume or suggest that the anyone needs to be tested or put into quarantine

Not Feeling Well

Student may return to class – YOU MAY NOT GET PROOF IF IT WAS OR WAS NOT COVID (doctor's note or negative COVID-19 test) to return to class nor should you ask for proof
