Coronavirus Update March 27, 2020: Campus office and department update #2

Current Coronavirus (COVID-19) Situation - UCCS Update #14 (12 p.m. March 27, 2020)

With the end of Spring Break and remote classes restarting Monday, we have included a number of updates from across campus. A complete list of campus updates and resources is maintained at covid19.uccs.edu. For last week's general update, visit covid19.uccs.edu/news/15.
 

Refunds and credits:

As information becomes available, it will be posted at covid19.uccs.edu/refunds. Below is a summary of the ones with information:

  • Parking: Students will receive credits posted to their student account for the second half of the spring semester. Faculty and staff payroll deductions are suspended until further notice. Employees who paid for a semester or annual permit in full will receive refunds for the unused portion, but expect additional time for processing.
  • Housing: Impacted students will receive an email with detailed information today. Credits will be posted to student accounts by the end of day on Monday, March 30.

Student Financial Services (Bursar):

  • If you are experiencing financial challenges related to paying your UCCS balance, please email bursar@uccs.edu for assistance and guidance.
  • Student Financial Services (Bursar) is handling questions through bursar@uccs.edu and email is being staffed from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m daily.
  • The Student Financials (Bursar) office staff will be on campus Tuesday's from 9-11 a.m. to accept and process any department deposits. Main Hall is locked, you will need to call dispatch (255-3111) Tuesday morning to arrange a deposit pickup by campus police from your office and they will deliver your deposit to the Cashier Office for processing.

UCCS HealthCircle Primary Care Clinic:

  • Behavioral Health Counseling: A PsyD (doctoral prepared psychologist) has capacity to do counseling for individuals who are struggling with the current COVID situation. These services can be provided in person or via tele-health / telephone.
  • Acute and Chronic Care Visits: The UCCS Primary Care Clinic will continue to be staffed with a Nurse Practitioner who can do acute and routine chronic care visits (the clinic has suspended all physical exams, non-urgent visits) via tele-health, or in person if needed. Staff can help patients decide what the next step should be based on their symptoms and health history.

Student Wellness Center Health and Mental Health Services:

  • Health and Mental Health Services at the Wellness Center continues to provide services for students. The Wellness Center is offering telemedicine appointments for students to access services.


Research:

  • Most operations are continuing remotely. A memo was sent to researchers, and the full text can be found on the Office of Research website.
  • Access to any building for research is limited to an authorized list maintained by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Research.
  • For general sponsored program questions, contact your research administrator, OSPRI and/or the Controller's Office.

Office of Information Technology:

  • The Help Desk is continuing to provide (remote) support Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. by phone, chat and email. Customers may experience a delay in response as the team is making every effort to provide the best customer service to each request. After-hours support is provided by BlackBeltHelp and is available by dialing (719) 255-4357 or connecting to the Help Desk chat, and then selecting the re-direct to BlackBeltHelp’s chat.
  • Imaging of computers has been postponed until April 13.
  • For faculty and staff, a variety of equipment, including Chromebooks and hotspots, will be available for checkout beginning April 13. Please watch for an email from helpdesk@uccs.edu closer to the date with more information and steps to complete a checkout request.

Travel to and from campus during Stay at Home Order: 

  • In review of the Governor's Stay at Home Order issued March 25, UCCS is in compliance with essential and critical personnel instructions. If an employee is concerned about necessary travel to and from campus, make sure to have the number for UCCS Police Dispatch (719-255-3111) available to share if someone wants to confirm.

Campus Recreation:

  • Campus Recreation will be offering remote programs and self-guided activity options for students and the UCCS community beginning Monday, March 30. All programs and activities can be found on the Campus Recreation website. Additions will be made each Monday to the resources, programs, and activities available on the Campus Recreation website.
