Coronavirus Update Nov 17, 2020: UCCS implementing some financial relief options for faculty, staff and students

With the move to remote instruction for most classes after Thanksgiving, UCCS will be implementing some financial relief options for faculty, staff and students.

Housing

Students who have informed the campus by Nov. 17 of a plan to relocate after Thanksgiving will receive a 3-week prorated housing credit that will be added to their fall semester student account by the end of day Monday, Dec. 7. This amount will be prorated based on the move-out date of Nov. 25. For the most current information and answers to questions visit residence.uccs.edu. For any additional questions, please contact Residence Life & Housing at housing@uccs.edu or 719-255-4042.

Parking

Parking will be free on campus after Thanksgiving, and all students, faculty and staff who have purchased a parking permit for the fall 2020 semester will receive a 3-week prorated refund in the form of a credit card refund, credit to their student account or reduced payroll deduction. For any questions, visit pts.uccs.edu or contact Parking and Transportation Services at parking@uccs.edu or 719-255-3528.

Commuter Meal Plans

Commuter students with optional meal plans will be contacted by Stacy Howell (Lion One Card Business Manager) to discuss meal plan options. For any additional questions please contact lionone@uccs.edu or 719-255-3644.

Credit/Refund Process

Once the housing and parking credits have been applied to student accounts, they will receive an email notifying them of the change. Students can view all account details online in the myUCCS portal at any time under Student Financials (Bursar) > View Your Balance. These credits will first apply to any outstanding balance on student accounts, then remain on the account through the spring 2021 semester census date (Feb. 3, 2021). If there is a credit balance left on the account, students will receive this as a refund after Feb. 3, 2021. For questions related to your student account, balance due, or refund please contact Student Financial Services (Bursar) at bursar@uccs.edu or 719-255-3391.

For all approved graduating seniors, the credit will be returned in the form of a refund. For refund methodology, please refer to uccs.edu/bursar/refunds
For students with extenuating circumstances that wish to request a refund before Feb. 3, 2021, they will need to fill out the COVID-19 Refund Request form at uccs.edu/bursar/bursarcovid19. The request will be reviewed, and students will be notified via email of the decision. For refund methodology, please refer to uccs.edu/bursar/refunds.
