Coronavirus Update March 6, 2020: Cases in Colorado

El Paso County announced this afternoon the first COVID-19 case in the county. There are no known cases on the UCCS campus. In response to the current status of COVID-19, the Chancellor activated an incident management team to coordinate the university response. The campus is using American College Health Association  guidelines to align our off-the-shelf plans. The campus team is monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local public health organizations. Please know that all campus-wide decisions are being made with the health and safety of our community at the forefront, and with the best available guidance from public health authorities. As the situation evolves, further updates may be forthcoming.

The UCCS Wellness Center is continuously updating its information and guidance for the university community to address changing local and global conditions.

The campus will continue normal operations but will continue to monitor conditions and modify operations as required. Updates about COVID-19 in Colorado are available from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
